Back in Action!

As you can see, my last blog post was January of 2021, and here it is now September of 2022! To say it was a rough year-plus would be a serious understatement, but it's been a rough couple of years for a lot of people. So I'm going to do a massive infodump -- you know, the thing that writers are discouraged from ever doing, but I love to do anyways!

The Order: Revelations

For the last few weeks, I've been working with Sandra R. Neeley (www.sneeleywrites.com) on a brand new science fiction romance series! It's already gone through edits, beta readers, and the ARC copies have been sent out. We'll be doing a live release of the ebook - hopefully this week - and I'm working on the paperback version right now, so we'll hopefully have it up by the end of the week!

It was a ton of fun working on this book, fell in love with the characters and already have the next book mentally planned out, so will hopefully be releasing book 2 before the end of the year.

Now, without further ado, here's the blurb and details!

What do you get when you take a snippy, sarcastic Georgia peach with a huge heart and a spine of steel, mix her in with beings who’ve watched over mankind since the beginning of recorded time, and pit them against their brethren who are traveling across the universe eradicating all their failed experiments at seeding unsettled planets, placing Earth high on their list?

Revelations: The Order, Book 1

The Saurinai have lived on Earth since the dawn of humanity. They've been known by many names — gods and daevas, spirits and demons, and archangels from the heavens. While they may look like angels, these immortal aliens are from another world. They call themselves ‘The Order’ and they are all that stand between their own people and the destruction of mankind. Rhavele, First Archon of The Order, their leader and the most powerful of their kind, is slowly slipping into insanity, as so many of their people have done over the eons they’ve lived on Earth. The phantom that haunts his waking moments is a very real danger — if he loses control to the phantom stalking his mind, there is no hope that humanity will survive the coming onslaught.

Aurora Rose MacKay is a proud Southern woman with a strength honed by generations of women before her and a heart as big as her home state of Georgia. She’s determined to make it as an artist in the big city, just as soon as she can stop bailing her baby brother out of trouble. Until then, she does everything she can to make everyone she meets smile a little more, feel they mattered to her for a little while. She’s a ray of warmth in a cold impersonal world. Her only respite is a fantasy man she’s dreamt of as far back as she can remember. Sounds innocent, right? What could possibly go wrong with a dream? Well, finding out he’s real, and you belong to him could put a new twist on things. But one thing is certain; as long as she’s in the line of fire, he’ll stop at nothing to keep her safe.

Warning: This book is for mature readers. Sensitive situations are depicted.

Winter and the Wolves:

The Breedverse (Season One)

Okay, so this one is a far different "beast" than The Order! I actually started this story for an anthology that released last Christmas, but what started off as a short story ended up turning into a full-on novel and a brand new universe.

The Breedverse is an Omegaverse series and each "season" will revolve around a new omega and their relationship. Most of the stories will be "gay" romances, either couples or triads (menages) - depending on the story - although there will be other relationship dynamics as well! I already have a male-female one outlined for a later season! Each season can be read as a standalone, although the world is interconnected and characters will reappear here and there!

I'm experimenting with Vella for this particular series, at least for now. We'll see how Winter's story goes before I decide whether or not the next one(s) will premiere on Vella or not! Once each season ends, 30 days later the full season will be released as a novel on Amazon, so if Vella isn't your speed (or if it's not available in your country yet) you'll still get a chance to read them!

Currently, the first 6 episodes of Winter and the Wolves are live on Kindle Vella! New episodes will release Monday-Wednesday-Friday through September & October, starting with episode 7 on Friday, September 9th! The first 3 episodes are free to read!

Oh! Guess I should actually share the blurb! This is the full blurb, not the "short blurb" used on Vella!

Omegas are rare. Omegas are precious. Winter is so freaking over being an Omega!

All his life, Winter has been kept in a pretty cage to keep him safe. Only Omegas can procreate with anyone, regardless of species or designation, and male Omegas tend to breed powerful Alphas. Since he’s not stupid enough to tempt fate and run away, he lives vicariously through the stories told by his older Alpha brothers. The only time he’s allowed to interact with outsiders is when there’s a ceremony or celebration, but since his twin sister is having a Mating Ceremony, at least this Christmas he’ll get to celebrate with his family…and maybe actually make some friends outside of his pack!

It’s a pain being an Omega!

Alphas are powerful. Alphas are feared. Crag loves being an Alpha!

As Alpha Wolf and King of the Northwestern Territories, Crag Wolfking has everything he could ever want or desire…except for an Omega to breed proper heirs. None of the Omegas paraded before him have called to his Beast, and he won’t settle for less—he doesn’t have to. When he’s invited to attend the Mating Ceremony of one of his generals, however, he comes face-to-face with an Omega who finally calls to his primal side. Merry Christmas to him! Of course, Crag still has to convince the Omega to actually become his—particularly since his Beta, Lord-General Eberhardt, is his bond-mate. That shouldn’t be a problem for a King though, right?

It’s good to be the Alpha!

Projects in the Works!

Okay, so here is where I update you on what's yet to come.

Sandra is currently working on the next book in her Whispers From the Bayou series - which are excellent, and I'm totally not biased despite the fact I design the covers for most of her books - so while she's working on that, I'm going to be working on a couple of different things! First, I'll be starting the next book in The Order, which will focus on Kaine meeting his arymae (true mate). We bounce the chapters back-and-forth, but this one will be slower to write than Revelations while we're both focusing primarily on other projects! I'd still like to have it finished in time to release before the end of this year, but that'll depend on both Sandra and I synching up our writing schedules with the voices in our heads!

Second, Winter and the Wolves is technically a work-in-progress, so the plan is to spend one day a week working on Winter's story and getting the next week's episodes uploaded. I'm staying at least two weeks ahead, in case situations come up as they tend to do, but the goal is to definitely have it finished by the end of October, beginning of November, because there's a 30-day waiting period after it's completed before it can be released as a novel, and it's going to be released in time for Christmas - because it was originally a Christmas story, after all! Oh! It will also have an extra special bonus epilogue included in the novel release, because that's already been written - if you happened to get a copy of the Fated & Claimed Anthology released for Christmas of 2021, you may have already read it!

Third, I have a couple of previous Halloween ideas I want to clean the cobwebs off of and see if any of the characters will speak to me. I'd like to have a Halloween release for this year, so we'll see if I can whip something up!

I'm mentally plotting out my strategy for 2023. I'd like to return to Faire Enchantments, my Renaissance Faire series, and have the next book ready around April, but the goal is to have a new book out at least every 6-8 weeks, so I have a lot of writing ahead of me!

I think that's all for right now! I need to get started on getting a proper newsletter going, so I'm gonna blog off for now! Peace out, y'all! - Chris
